This scaling area of the tunnel was cleared. He had to head back to the Seat of Pride now and await the return of Sera. He supposed that whilst he was doing that. The Lord of Pride ( if he really could claim the purity of that title anymore) decided that it would probably be a good idea to bring some reading material concerning some of this blood mages experiements. After all although he had first searched for the books that had concerned him, these were not the only ones that were within the mage’s lab. He had taken part in plenty of experiments before Jack and the theories on dragon lore. The ones that had stuff on his previous research seemed to partake ion a lot of stuff that was similar to Jack’s own research, some on blood others on demonic lore. Of course there was totally out of the world theories on the dawn, but for now Jack just discarded those in favour for some research notes containing words of wisdom about the unfortunate tragedies concerning hybridisation within the scale of humans and Onikonjou.

It seemed that this had been the first starting point on this blood mages path to researching dragon demon hybridisation. He had first of all been researching the power within hybrid species. Thoughts of Jack moved back to the Hybrids that he had met over the course of his life. The first of them and perhaps the most important of them that hit his life from the start of the dawn. That said, her memory wasn’t all too important at the moment. But it had been a building point for his own personal development.

There seemed to be some serious interest in the work of hybrids. This seemed to be listing the famous ones and just what kind of impact they’’d had on Terras or their appropriate worlds since the dawn and honestly it was impressive. More so than actual humans. He was beginning to log down in the latter chapters that hybrid demons ended up being as strong as their spiritual parents soon enough after their powers awakened. However the hybrid kami also gained this kind of power. Making them as strong as demons. Which made them in actuality stronger than their own kami side. That in itself was a curiosity. Id that mean that there was some strength to the human line that actually improved the power of kami?

On that note Jack began to think about Sera and the effects that his own tainted blood had upon her attitude and her powers. She had become stronger, there was no way to say that she had become stronger because of the demonic power coursing through her, but at the same time Jack was not about to discount the possibility entirely that some of her new powers came from Jack. He looked up from the book and considered it. Then put his head back down. There was a growling sound coming ahead from the tunnel. Ah, now this was going to be something. Jack had forgotten that although he’d cleared the area of monsters that the lab had. He’d still to clear the tunnels that led up to it.

Now Jack had been expecting some kind of horrible monster to come jumping out at him from the shadows ahead, what he hadn't been expecting though was precisely what seemed to happen next. A horrible monster jumped out at him. From within the walls. Lasoing around his leg the elastic of some kind of worm like creature. It then latched onto his thigh with several saw like circular teeth. Jack gritted his own slashing down with a claw and tearing through the warm like silk. More of them shot out however eneveloping arms legs, the claw hand immobile at this point his only choice was to attack using his magical power. Jack murmered under his breath and reached into the worms themselves, their blood if indeed they had any. Which luckily for Jack, they did. He turned their own bodies defense systems against them which had ach of the unattaching themselves and flying back into the stone and earht walls writhin in pain. Jack himself would have had some sort of confident smirk at this stage if it wern't for the fact that his wounds were not healing as quickly as he would have liked. Must have been something in the bites of those creatures that made blood harder to clot.

He murmered a spell under his breath once more that jump started the draconian power within his blood, the wounds slowly began to heal. But once again there was that growling noise. A warning that seemed to say something else was coming.

More of them, god damned worms.

Perhpa sthis was one of the reasons that no one came out of these frigging tunnels. Both times Jack had emerged from this place he had came out alternate entrances and well the other time he had been in his dragon form. He imagined that the worms would have a hard time messing with that. Hm. That was an idea. THe moment he saw another one of those things strick their sickly white heads out of the rock and earth. He gathered his power and then unleashed it. His form once again began to shift. Changing mutating into something totally different. The dark scaled demonic dragon that was known only as the Tyrant. The worms seemed to hesitate for a moment and Jack in this form felt a sort of sick sense of satisfaction as he let loose with a roar. Followed up by a breath of fire. The worms seemed to melt even within the earth under the heat of the flames. And whilst they only travelled out so far in front of him. He planned to bake everything in the vicinity. So he pushed forward moving step by step. Each one taken shaking the ground as he moved through the tunnel. Breathing out that all consuming fire.

The rocks turned black, the earth grew hard, darkened. The worms within them glistened with that sickly whiteness of theres, melting like candles left too long under an open flame. Eventually Jack emerged from the tunnel. Having cleared it. At least for now.
