Wayfaring Stranger I-B

As she felt the man's breathing steady into the sleep of satisfaction, she moved her slender body out of his grasp. The man on the bed shifted and rolled over perfectly unaware of what the little assassin had planned for him. Slipping from the bed she pulled on her clothing, softly she reached up and rebound her hair. Bending down she picked up the small silver pins that she had used to keep her hair up. It was easy with his back presented to her to slip the first pin into his vertebrae and paralyze him. His eyes opened just slightly as she did this, a look of surprise on his face as he could not do anything more than breath and that would soon be the last of him too. The second silver pin had a sharp edge instead of a pointed end. With this pin she climbed onto the bed and leaned down to whisper in his ear, "All the same, luv, we are dead to the world" And without anything further she slit his throat.

The gush of warm blood spilling out onto the bed. She watched him slowly bleed out as she slipped off the bed and pulled on her boots. When his eyes glazed over and he stopped breathing. She grabbed the second pin and was out the window in a heartbeat. Before taking the leap, she grabbed not only her instrument but her pay from the bedside table and then was gone like the night. At the edge of the village she met the other two and smiled, showing them the bloody pins. They chuckled and opened the door of a carriage that had been waiting there for her. It was time to move on to her next stop. Her pay collecting for each hit that she completed.
