The Origin of Ciena VIII [Flashback, Closed]

Nearly two months had passed since her travels with the caravan and finding the 'slutty' trio with Lord Kyrojin. Ciena had gone to lessons with Dae and tried avoiding many with Zuel, though the tyrant caught her each time. But she had been feeling ill. She was waking up with nausea and couldn't even look at food in the morning now. This morning she had been forced to race to the washroom, the bed blessedly empty from her Lord, and she heaved up the dinner from the night prior. Ciena emptied her stomach then went and got herself a cup of water, sipping at it tentatively. She had thrown up yesterday and the day before also. She didn't understand what was wrong with her. She didn't have a fever and by mid morning she felt fine, though a bit quesy around around food, especially meat when it was being cooked. Smells that she once found delicious, now made her stomach churn. And she had been so tired along with her breasts aching and being sensitive to the touch.

The young woman sighed, looking down into her cup of water, frowning. She should go visit the healer and see if she had gotten a bug. But then why did it only effect her in the morning? Being tired wasn't helping either. She was starting to sleep in more, a rarity since she tended to be up with the sun and go about morning chores and such. Ciena shook her head and got herself dressed in one of her favorite kimonos, a pink one that had a matching obi and Dae had even gotten the matching necklace to come with it in the barter. She even had a matching haori, which hid the wakazashi that was tucked along the back of her obi. She fixed her hair then washed her face. She looked in the small mirror the washroom held and tilted her head. Her cheeks seemed a bit more rosy and her skin looked healthier than usual. She shrugged. Odd how she looked healthy yet was sick as a dog in the morning when she awoke. WIth those tasks done she moved out of the house and into the morning sun. She smiled. She would be turning sixteen soon. She wondered if she could get the supplies she needed to make herself a cake with dried fruits in it to make it sweet and tangy.

She hummed softly as she walked the village, waving to those she knew as she headed for the Healer's home. Ciena laughed as she avoided being trampled by a group of the younger children. Her eyes sought out Toshiue, but it would seem he was probably already with his teachers. He was Lord Kyrojin's son and thus was a Prince to these people in a sense. She clasped her hands in front of her, her long haori sleeves hiding them easily. She inclined her head to smithy as she passed by and finally came to the home of the Healer. Ciena knocked politely before entering, the main room always open for people to come in. "Ohayo," she called out, shutting the door behind her.

The question would arise as to just what type of healer a village like Kyrotoshi would have. The healer for the village would be a soft spoken lady with long black hair that was braided in front of her body instead of behind her back and it trailed to her mid section. As far as her character went, the lady known as Onohara-sama was known for being or at least seeming calm at all times never really displaying distress even when situations seemed demanding. She was known for using honorifics when addressing others and even Zuel, Dae and Sunji refer to her as their senior implying she holds a large amount of respect in the village.

When Ciena enters into the house which seconded as a healer center for those who sought aide, she would be dressed in a white haori over a black kimono with the symbol for “4” on the back of it, in the ‘kitchen’ portion of the first floor grinding herbs in a small bowl. Looking up, she gives a soft smile as he takes one glance at Ciena speaking, “welcome” and motioning her to come in before continuing to grind the herbs speaking casually, “congratulations on your pregnancy.”

Location: Healer Onohara's home

Ciena liked Onohara. She was a kind woman and very respected within the village. Ciena had no true need to visit her since she had not needed healing since she arrived in Kyrotoshi. The young woman moves in the dwelling and sees Healer Onohara grinding herbs. She is greeted and then...

"Nani?!" Ciena squeaks out, nearly tripping over her own feet as she gapes at the older woman. She then touched her still flat belly. "I... No... Can't be.." then she trails off and realizations dawns on her. She had not had her moon cycle since before the caravan trip. She numbly walks closer and sits by Onohara. "It makes sense now.." she mutters more to herself than the healer. She then looks at the older woman and feels comforted in her presence.

"I'm going to have a child... Toshiue will have a brother then.."

“Ara?” Onohara would raise her eyebrows slightly showing a bit of surprise as she inquires, “you didn’t know?” The news had been given however. With a soft smile, she would assure, “it looks like he will.” This would give her the knowledge that it would seem to be Lord Kyrojin’s child. “That man…” her voice trails as she feels a little sorry for Ciena for being knocked up by him, but would mask her concern in her warm smile. She would sit down the bowl she was using to grind herbs and would gracefully move from the area where she was to stand near Ciena as she looks over the young lady, stepping forwards and placing her hand on Ciena’s stomach. Since Ciena was just now finding out, Onohara would suspect, “you must have come here to ask about the sickness you’ve been having to endure in the mornings. Now that you have your answer, you need to be sure to protect your body and make sure that you’re eating right. You have the responsibility of the lord’s baby within that stomach.” Looking up at her, Onohara would ask softly, “can you guess how many months you are?”

Location: Healer Onohara's dwelling

Ciena shakes her head to Onohara-sama's first words. She had not known. It was hard for her to know. She was no healer thus she did not know to look for the signs the moment she got her morning sickness. Ciena looked down at her flat belly. She was going to have a child. A new little prince for this village. She smiled gently, that secret smile of mothers when they are carrying a babe.

She lifts her gaze when Onohara-sama comes over, gentle healing hands coming to her stomach. "I did," she agreed and that smiled returned. She then nodded as Onohara told her she now needed to take care of herself and eat properly as well. "Of course, Onohara-sama. I'll take very good care of myself," she said and then pursed her lips in thought at the question. "About two months. My last moon time was a bit before the caravan trip I accompanied."

“Very good,” Onohara would praise with her beaming visage, “you are very perceptive.” She removes her hand from Ciena’s stomach and lifts a finger as she states, “this is a rough village to carry a child in…” She pauses for a moment as she thinks about the house that Ciena would have to attempt to live through pregnancy in. Her smile is slightly stressed with her eye slightly twitching as she thinks about Kyrojin chasing around a pregnant Ciena. She speaks in a soft and kind tone underlined with a bit of ill intent, “I will have to speak with Lord Kyrojin and… alert him to your delicate situation…”

Ciena was smiling and her hands went to he flat stomach, laying their with reverance. She was with child. She was young. But she never thought she would be a mother. Not with how she had to live. Though Kyrojin did not treat her too badly. It was the blatant cold shoulders from some of the others that hurt her the most. She wanted to prove herself so badl, yet she still had a bit of a ways to go before she could match some of the ones who had been fighting since the moment they awoke in this world.

She blinked as Onohara spoke of speaking to Kyrojin. Ciena just nodded a bit, wondering what the kindly healer would say to him. "Is there anything that I could take to help with my morning illness," she asked, already thinking about going to find Toshiue and tell him she was going to be having his little brother. Her eyes softened at the thought of the little boy. He had helped her so much and he meant alot to her.

With that the news was given and received by the healer. When asked about the morning sickness, she seemed to have something of aid to the young child bearer. She moves away from Ciena for that moment in order to head into another room where she kept various vials of medicines and tonics. After the sound of some rummaging and a few moments from being in the other room, Onohara returns back with a small curvy vial of pink liquid closed with a cork in the top of it. She walks over and gingerly hands the bottle to Ciena and speaks, “drink this before you go to sleep and night and it should help.” She also hands Ciena a small clamp and points to the bridge of her nose, speaking, “morning sickness can also be triggered by your enhanced sense of smell during this period.” She smiles, “please use this to restrict how much of the lord’s odor you have to put up with.”

Ciena watched her walk into the next room over. It left her on her own and she gazed down at her belly, petting it. She knew she was quite young, but she would do her best. But.. Jst how would Kyrojin take it? She knew very little about Toshiue's mother, only that the woman wasn't around. She never wanted that for her child. She wanted the babe to grow and flourish yet have her always there to give them the love only a mother can give. Ciena remembered her own mother. The woman who had taken her in had treated her so well and ha loved her. She closed her eyes. She missed her home next to the sea. She longed to bask in the sounds and smells of the ocean waters, but she knew it would be nearly impossible to do it alone. She did not know her way back home afterall.

Onohara returned, disturbing her thoughts of home. She looked up, eyes fluttering open to gaze at the older woman. Ciena got to her feet and accepted the items. The medicine was explained then Onohara went on to explain the small clamp. Ciena actually blinked before she threw her head back and her laughter exploded from her lips and filled the home with a light happy sound. It took her moment to calm before looking at Onohara. She smiled brightly at the woman.

"Other than his trips to the bathroom. I tend to have him bathe the moment he comes home," she replied and tucked the things in the small waist pouch she back attached to her obi. She took the older woman's hands in her own. "Arigato. I'll come to you for check ups and more medicine if needed," she said, the smile never leaving her lips. "I'll take my leave," she then said letting go of her hands and moved to leave and go find Toshiue.

There’s a slight giggle that comes from the healer as Ciena describes keeping Kyrojin clean. She stands by with a kind gaze as Ciena gives her thanks and takes her leave. Moving to the door with her, Onohara would stop in the door way and watch as Ciena left before stepping back and moving back into the interior of the structure to proceed with the rest of her day.

After having gotten some training in alone and hopefully in secret from the others, Toshiue would be returning from the area of the mountains further up beyond where the village was. His body would be covered in fur garments with his armaments strapped in various places on his body. Though still a body, he walked as if totally convinced to be a man. He would make his reentry into the village from the northern gates and head into the village interior with blood on his clothing.

Ciena moved out of the healer's home, the sun out. It made her smile and walk down the path, wondering where Toushie was. How was she going to tell Kyrojin that she was with child? Would he even care that she was going to give him another child? Ciena sighed and pushed the negative thoughts from her mind. It would be unhealthy if she kept thinking in such a depressing manner.

She inclined her head to a couple of people she knew in greeting, yet avoid a certain little trio of young women. She couldn't afford to fight with them now. She kept to the edges of the people out in the sunlight. Though it seemed more for providing light than giving warmth. Ciena tucked her fur collar closer around her neck and happened to pass the northern gate. She then saw Toshiue and smiled brightly.

"Toshiue!" she called out, moving toward the young boy. His antics always brought a smile to her lips. He thought he was a man when he was still a child. THough he was quite strong. Something to be expected of the son of the village's leader.

In hearing his name, the child would pause and turn his gaze in Ciena’s direction. After seeing her, a soft smile comes to his face as he lifts his hand and waves to her. Catching himself and trying not to look too boyish, his hand lowers, and his face composes as poise is brought to his young form and he proceeds in heading in Ciena’s direction. As he walked, he brushed some of the dirt flakes from his fur garments and wiped his hands on his pants. Reaching Ciena, he would greet, “where you looking for me?” A hand lifts as he brushes his hair from his face; he had in his mind to eat, but would see what Shiori was up to at the moment.
