The Origin of Ciena V [Closed, Flashback]

Evening time approaches with the night, pulling its blanket over the sky just above Kyrotoshi. Inside Kyrojin’s home a large fire would be in the process of starting up with the process being facilitated by the homeowner’s son. Toshiue crouched by the flame, fanning them to become larger and stronger so that Ciena could begin in cooking the night’s dinner. Shadows flickered about the dim wooden house with yellow and orange glows reflecting off of the surrounding surfaces. In a recap of recent events, after the fight between Ciena and a few of the village girls, Toshiue would have gone the day without having seen Ciena. Kyrojin had been the one to help her up when she had been knocked down, and brought her home to rest, even allowing her to ‘snuggle’ up to him when she may have believed him to be asleep.

It would be rare for Toshiue to be in the house this late since for up to this point it had been established that Toshiue did not live with Kyrojin. Additionally, it had never been expressed just where the son of the village leader lived. The topic had either never come up or was ignored when it did.

The house would only contain Ciena and Toshiue. Kyrojin would not currently be in the house as he would be running late from a campaign that he and a few of the men of the village would be currently on. With him out, Toshiue decided that he would help Ciena get the nightly preparations ready as well as try some of her food at the same time. After getting the fire up, he would turn to her, brushing a white bang from his face as he speaks, “the fire is ready, Ciena…” Since he had just come recently and it hadn’t come up in conversation, he would ask, “so what happened with those girls after I left?”

There is a soft smile on Toshiue’s face as he speaks, “I figured that was what was going to happen…” He stands from his crouching position and brushes his palms on the sides of his clothing before turning to look at her. After focusing on her for a moment, he would see her inner ki center and noticed that it had become stronger than it had been at a pretty incredible rate. It was almost as if she were picking this up as quickly as he had, and among the tribe, he had been hailed as a genius when it came to such things. His only major hang up was his physical condition, which was great for a child his age, but was still limited by the fact that he was a child his age. He would speak, “Yoko’s a good fighter. Those three stand out among the girls… so you had a pretty tough opponent.” Thinking on it, he speaks, “…her Ki center is only about five times stronger than yours, but her body is in good physical condition.” As a kid, he wouldn’t realize that the statement could be taken with another type of connotation. Still, he concludes, “I’m surprised you fought; I haven’t shown you any physical moves yet.”

Toshiue would pause for a moment as she mentions that his father had been pleased, or seemed pleased with her actions. His light visage returns as he nods and speaks, “is that so? That’s good.” Since his job of making the fire was done, he saunters about the fire moving in a semi circular arch. He speaks, “well, I can show you a few things. It looks like you’re ready to move to the next step.” Thinking out loud he goes down the list, “you’ve learned the basics of training your Ki and you’ve developed your own style of doing so… you’ve started watching others fight and taking guesses on how it works to do it yourself… I don’t think I’ve shown you any magic, through. It can be a very useful thing.” Toshiue would remember hearing tales from the low land princess and her great powers. He would inquire, “what do you know about magic? Did they have it where you were from?”

“Ah,” Toshiue would understand, “so mostly the older folk.” He would find this somewhat amusing to himself as he figured it probably took them a life time to understand magic. Since he was a Hitoshi, his natural penchant would be towards the dark arts; though he did have some elemental abilities he was in the process of working on. “I’m not that good with magic just yet,” he would explain, “but I’m constantly working on it. Here… I’ll show you something.” He holds out his hand with his palm up and murmurs lightly to himself the incantation, “orb of darkness, manifest thyself…” His body would glow slightly before a black orb of energy begins to manifest and swirl in his palm. It begins to rotate rapidly and suddenly flattens. There is a small burst of dark energy and a shuriken falls into Toshiue’s open hand (Black Star, OBC1). He would then hold the ninja star with his index finger and thumb, vertically in front of him for Shiori to see before twisting his body and throwing it towards the wall where it sticks into the wall much like any solid object before vanishing. “I can make it explode too,” he explains, “but we’re in the house…”

With the hail, he obliges and makes his way towards her. As he does so he figured he would explain the basics to her. He would inform, “there’s a couple of steps to magic. Even though some people can make it look like one action, it’s actually a few actions put together. If people don’t understand this, then they can’t do magic.” Holding up one finger, he would announce, “the first thing you have to do is to channel your Ki. For beginners like me, this is done with a chant. A chant is a spell phrase that invokes your Ki to start channeling. When it is fully channeled, your Ki will start to circulate and flow around your body. After you’ve channeled it, you need to convert it into the magic energy type that you’re using it for. When I did that trick right now, I converted my Ki into dark magic energy. After you convert it to magical energy, then the magical energy has to flow through you and manifest itself. If you’re doing an energy strike, you might gather it into your hand and throw it out. If you’re doing a blast to all sides, then you would push it out and around you. Get it?” He would then come to sit beside her.

The conversation would shift from magic to normal fact. Looking up, Toshiue would answer matter of factly, “the main clan house.” It would be then that he would realize that Ciena thought this was his father’s main residence. Looking at her as if realizing that she missed something, he would emit a, “huh…” in thinking to himself. With a shrug, he would begin to explain something, but would be cut off as the door would open. The chill from the outside would briskly make its way in as Kyrojin would enter into the room. Without missing a beat, Toshiue would turn, plant his rear foot, pull his dagger from beneath his obi and dash towards Kyrojin in a kill shot aimed for his father’s mid section in the blink of an eye. Pivoting, Kyrojin would casually turn, grab Toshiue in mid leap and fling him up and away, out of the house. He would pause for a moment until he heard a thud and a small “ow!” before he would nod and close the door. Turning towards the fire, he would move on as if nothing had happened and smile delightedly now that food was ready. Toshiue hadn’t even gotten to sample the cooking; it was a pity, really.

The lord of the house would seem particularly distracted this night; though he saw the food ready for eating, he would hold off on that for a moment. His gaze would follow Ciena as she walked to the door and held out the bowl. Walking silently behind her, Kyrojin would reach over her to take the bowl, set it in front of the door on the outside and then close it again. Pulling Ciena back into the house and interrupting her from moving to serve him his dinner, he would give her a small push and ask her quite simply, “did I say you could open the door back?” His voice would be stricter than normal; it seemed almost as if Ciena had done something wrong which he had found out and was in the process of confronting her about. Either way, there were bad tidings in his aura.

The aura would take a moment to grasp, but it was more of a wolf staring down the target of a hunt. The door that had closed would not be reopened as Toshiue probably wouldn’t have come back anyway. He did, however, not allow Ciena’s offering go to waste. He would scamper up the steps to the bowl, take it, silently wish Ciena good luck and then scamper back away towards the main clan house.

Back inside, Kyrojin would stand between Ciena and the doorway. He would simply gaze at her, not showing it externally, but enjoying the confused and seemingly panicked reaction he was able to get from her. They had been getting pretty familiar lately and she had been taking some liberties in the way she spoke with him. There was another step in the process of getting familiar with the lord, however, and this would be introduced as he would approach her without answering her questions. “Draw your wakizashi…” he would say in a low and sinister tone. She would have only a moment to realize his words before he would appear to her side and pull his leg around, slamming it into her side, aiming to knock her into the middle of the wall closest to the bedroom and away from the food that was simmering over the fire. If she hadn’t drawn her blade by then, he would repeat the command in the same blood thirsty tone.

“What did ya do?...” Kyrojin would be facing her from a distance of about five meters or so. With a casual wave of his hand, a flat force would rush across the distance between them, a razor sharp wind blade the size of his body, and would be aimed to cut her in half, or at least try, if she didn’t move out of its way. It would rip up a part of the wooden floor en route to her and if missed, it would explode and splinter the wall behind her, causing it to ricochet harmful debris from her rear. He would continue, “I don’t need a reason ta kill ya.” The same force that he had sent to destroy her would rotate about his body in a close fitting spiral, causing the fire at his side to flicker wildly in the passage of the winds. He would tilts his head up so that a red gleam could be seen from beneath his lids as he informs, “what? Ya thought you were safe because I ain’t killed ya yet…” He giggles, “I didn’t get to kill anyone today… so I think I’ll kill you…” With that he would send two more smaller wind blades at her with a wave of his hand, one towards her left side and the other towards her right.

Kyrojin would watch on as she leapt between the blades in evasion. He didn’t seem impressed or upset, but rather he kept the same careless visage on his face as if administering unjust punishment for the sake of his own amusement. He would speak as she dodged and rushed him, “ya thought I liked ya? Ya thought I wouldn’t try to kill ya just because ya sing good and take care of me? Ya think you’re the only one who can do that stuff?” He would not move as she rushes in towards him; his gaze would follow her as she moved almost like in slow motion in comparison to his sharp senses. “Ya wanna die slow then?” he would question her fighting him back, allowing her to attack him.

The strike would hit its mark. Fabric may be cut, but the Lord Kyrojin would be unharmed. Striking him in the chest would be almost the same as striking stone. Aside from his natural toughness, he had abilities to heighten his defense when he blocked. He would allow the situation to sink in for her; even if she struck him with all of her strength in her weapon, she would still be unable to cut him. Immediately after the strike would occur, he would murmur “no fear…? Then let me show ya hopelessness.” The words would invoke a binding spell that would make the atmosphere so thick with despair that it would seem choking. The magical bind would emit from his aura and caste different feeling than his murderous intent which was used to invoke fear. This particular bind caused the person to feel winded, anxious and panicked. Though it would only last for a moment, its effects would linger much like the pain of a strike after it had been made. He would take a single step towards her and coax, “go ahead… ya wanna strike me again?”

Kyrojin would loom over her; when she staggered back, he would not follow. He would remain where he was, watching her actions intently. His visage remains jovial and nonchalant as her laughter rings out; crescendo was building up to the climax and the time for the Sea Shell to die had finally come. Just as she turns the blade on herself, Kyrojin would take a step forward. His step would be unlike the normal kind as for with a single step, his body would appear right before her. There would be the sound of a blade striking wood, as her wakizashi pierces the wall to their side, stuck in the wall vertically as if tossed there. It was arguable as to whether she would even realize when and that the blade had been removed from her hands and discarded until after the disarm had already taken place. Towering over her once more as such a close range, his voice would drip malevolence as it speaks, “I said I was gonna kill ya, didn’t I…? Who said you could do it…?”

His right hand reaches forwards, grabbing her yukata and bunching it in his fist. He yanks her towards him and brings her face close to his as he speaks “now you die…” Shifting forward and pulling her towards him, he would connect their lips and steal from her a passionate kiss without further warning. His voice would speak within her as he held the kiss, ‘tonight the you who I stole from the low lands will die. When the morning comes, you will have been reborn as the you which belongs to me.’ His left hand lowers to her clothed crotch where he touches and in a soft rubbing manner continues, ‘after this night and on, you will belong to me. Ya past won't even have claim to you.’
