Chapter 1: Pre Origins

The Dawn was an awe inspiring experience for all of those who witnessed it, those people, who were blessed by the ‘powers that be’ and were allowed to see the creation of their world first hand. Among these people was a man borne of no name and no past. With the onset of The Dawn, consciousness came to his form, this man with no name or memories. In his first moments of life, his body shifted in a mixture of earth and broken concrete. Debris filled the cold ground. Suddenly uncomfortable, he lifted up his strong frame to sit vertically on the ground lifting his hands to his face. A sigh of being exits his lungs via past his lips and his hands retreat beyond his hair to his neck as his gaze lifts to the glowing skies above. Celestial bodies floated in the skies glowing and reflecting the power of The Dawn that permeated the atmosphere above and around him. After moments of being mesmerized, his gaze eventually travels about him; all around at various places, people were having similar experiences as him. At first, he found the world to be an odd place, but only due to the fact that he was just now coming into existence. Of course there was no frame of reference or compare with as this seemed to be the starting of at least his life. A land lowers to his knee and his body pushes up with renewed strength as he stands and takes an upright form. A little shaky, his stance eventually steadies, and with this shift in posture, he would begin his first journey within the New World.

The first year had passed after The Dawn and the man had come to grips that the earth was a dangerous place. As humans continued to exist between one another, they began to speak a common language. Some were kind, yet others were evil. There was no law in which the humans were forced to abide and aside from them where were wild animals, vile creatures and demons to contend with. A pack of wolves could easily prey upon a lone human within this world. As a strong man, he was able to defend himself and learn the ways of the world. He faced hardship and difficulty time after time and each time it came to him, he found himself able to overcome. His orientation into the world was a hard one; he walked alone depending on his own strength and not overly trusting those around him. Over time, he began to gain skills in judging a person’s character and intent. He started to become able to sense an ambush, or the shuffling of feral creatures in the tall grass. His entire being became honed on his ability to survive; his fight or flight pushed him to his limits and he became accustomed to the world that birthed him.

It was within his first year of living in this world that he came across a woman in distress. To him, this woman was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. She was around his age in appearance; her body seemed to glow with an unnatural beauty and an aura of peace exuded from her eyes. Though the circumstance of their meeting was dire, they also represented the luck of fate. Even though she was surrounded by bestial fiends, she seemed as the calm ocean, tranquil and serene. Moving against his instincts of survival, the man intervened and fought the fiends on her behalf, warding them off at the cost of his own health. After the battle was over, the man remained standing as the last of the fiends fled from the battle leaving their dead brethren behind at the man’s feet. Badly wounded, the man stumbled to one knee and eventually fell to the ground in a growing pool of his own blood. Coming to his aid after her rescue the woman was able to heal his wounds little by little over time, through some unexplained magic. After healing from that time, the man found that the woman was a traveler in this world as well and had no one, much like him. With this knowledge, he had the woman to follow him so that she would be free of danger. Together as companions, the couple traveled east to the coast following the rumors of other passing nomads, of a place that was safe from the wiles of the wilderness.

After reaching the Eastern Coast, the man found a place to finally settle after traveling for so long. He worked hard to build a dwelling for himself and the woman. It was a simple structure with only one room mimicked from the structures he had seen during his journey. During the day, he hunted to assure their survival and provided food and water for the woman. He hunted and traded with the other humans in the area in order to have things. In turn, the woman took care of him and assisted him in many ways. They worked together, helping one another through this time. As things would come to pass, the woman and man fell in love with one another and out of their love a son was born. This son was named Jin, and he held attributes from both his mother and father.

Chapter 2: Life

The man, the woman and the child made up a family who lived together near the Eastern Coast of the main continent of Terra. The family became such that the man provided food and shelter and the woman took care of the house and also provided nourishment and happiness. The child’s primary job was to bask in the happiness created by the love of his mother and father. The father being a strong man not accustomed to showing weakness, was awkward around the child at first, but as time went on, the two became almost as inseparable as the child from his mother. The sound of laughter could often be heard from the interior of the home. The child, Jin, naturally loved his mother and father with all of his heart from his beginning. During his existence, the time he spent with them was as perfect as a family could hope to get.

Of the other humans in the area, the man came to know another man who had a family much like his own. Recognizing one another, they came to hunt with each other from time to time. Over the span of time, the two men became friends and their families began to interact. The other man who was to be called Brother had a wife and a daughter. As they were around the same age, Jin and the daughter came to become friends and often played with one another. The chemistry between the two families was one of happiness and all was good between them.

Jin’s father possessed an exceptionally useful tool for hunting. It was a flat, long and slender metallic blade that his father referred to as a claw. In the old and forgotten ancient world, this tool would be referred to as a katana. Often times, the father would show this blade-claw to his son. He would explain how he came to know that he had to hunt. He would tell the story of how a day after when he first awoken, his stomach pained him and continued to do so for many days. His body became weak and he did not know what to do. He explained how he learned how to hunt by watching animals battle among one another; this was how he was able to feed himself. He studied their movements and took advantage of their weaknesses, starting off small at first. He would study their dead bodies while eating them and realized the difference between them. Animals had long sharp claws that they used to rip life from their pray. Their teeth were sharper than that of a man and their jaws were powerful weapons. In his journeying, he came across many objects that helped him in battling prey, but among the tools he found, the blade-claw was the most effective. As animals would sharpen their claws, much like felines scratching bark, the man developed ways to keep his blade sharp. He also came across other humans who were skilled in such things and bartered for their services. The father would explain how he used the blade-claw to hunt and explained that all living things hunted and killed one another to survive. Though Jin was told all of this, it was saturated by the pampering of his mother. He would be too young to understand such concepts at that time and would often lose interest and run and go to cling onto his mother. The mother would of course, look at the father, smile and ask him to put away things of death when he was not actively hunting.

Around these times, the area was starting to settle under the rule of a beautiful Queen. Though the times were getting steadier, human nature remained the same. Within his interactions with humans, the father came across a man by the name of Baek. This man approached the Father in an attempt to take his woman away from him to enjoy pleasurably for himself. After all, much like the Queen, the mother was a Kamikonjou. Her beauty shone naturally brighter than an ordinary human woman. Among the human men, she was deemed very desirable and the man was proud that he was with her. Still Baek, attempted to forcibly take her and the Father defeated him in battle, dismissing him telling him leave and to never return within sight of his home. The man left for that day, but he did not heed the father’s words. Contempt, jealousy and hateraid formed deep within the stomach of Baek who plotted his revenge against the father. Weeks later, he enacted the product of his revenge.

Chapter 3: Death

Night fell across the coastal regions and darkness covered the skies. A red and seething hatred glowed within the belly of Baek who stood among other men with revenge on his heart. Looking between the men there, the final plans are made to enact their terror upon the family of the man, otherwise known as Jin’s father. As for the previously mentioned child, he laid sleep within the comfort of the one room home built by his father. He rested peacefully in the single bed that they had whereas the father slept nearest the door with the mother in the middle and the small Jin nuzzled into her body comfortably, embraced by love as he slept. The peaceful nature of this slumber was immediately dispersed by the loud sound of the door being kicked into the interior of the home from the outside. Immediately, an alert man, Jin’s father stood after being awoken. As he stood, the sound of a piece of metal pierced the air causing the man to shift his head to the side. A knife struck and stuck into the wall behind him as he charged forth, towards the first male that had entered into his domain. Unarmed, he tackles the man outside of the door and wrestled him to the ground. In all of this, the mother had awoken in a fright, unsure of what was going on. Protectively she held her child, waiting for the husband to return, but the sounds of more than one man outside gave her cause for worry. The small child was also able to hear that there were several men outside, giving hint to the events on going.

The father wasn’t the last to realize that he had been surrounded; his quick count of his surroundings provided six figures that seemed to be threats in the night within a proximity of fifteen or so feet. Swiftly rolling off of the first man, he gets to his feet and stands defensively within a circle of comparable strength. In the darkness of the night, they wore dark colors and moved about on all sides as the first male stood. Pulling the hood from over his face back he revealed himself to be Baek. The father looks to him and growls his proclamation of dismissal, but Baek ignores this, retorting that their battle was just beginning. He attacks with three others and in this initial rush, the father parries the first male, pushing him to the side in order for him to trade punches with the second. He recovers quicker and kicks that male to the side as the third rushes and tackles him. Grabbing him by the shoulders in his falling back, the father rolls and kicks him up and over him onto the ground. Rolling over his shoulder, he gets to his feet and prepares himself for the next attack.

Hearing a struggle outside concerning his father, Jin breaks free of his mothers grasp and runs to the door in concerned curiosity. He sees his father fighting and remembers that his father needed his claw-blade to fight. Ignoring the call of his mother for him to hold still and come back to her, Jin runs to where his father’s hunting items and begins to look through them. Jin is able to hear grunts and the sound of bodily impacts occurring outside, and with those sounds, it coaxed him to look harder in the dark house. Moving over his father’s hunting hood and garbs, Jin is able to locate the claw blade and grabs the black sheathed Katana before running to the door, holding it with both hands and calling out to his father. To his surprise, his father stood in the middle of the circle of men who lay sprawling on the ground. This father turns to look over his shoulder and gives a reassuring grin that everything would be okay before returning a stern visage to the men around him. In that moment, Jin felt calm and secure knowing his father’s strength as a man. In the next moment, that security was shattered. A cloaked figure approaches from the shadows of the night and steps forwards into view. The father turns to look at the cloaked figure as the other men slowly cough and attempt to compose themselves enough to stand. The cloaked figure looks up and past the father to the son. At that moment, Jin felt his stomach drop; suddenly he feels an immense pressure pushing down on him that causes him to fall to his knees and feel nauseous. The child clutches the claw-blade as his mother calls out asking what was wrong. Turning towards his son, the father see his son attacked and is distracted for a moment. During this moment, Baek pulled a dagger from his boot and throws it at the man. The dagger strikes the man in the side of the arm, but the man’s focus was on the cloaked figure. He charges the man, breaking his concentration which relieves the pressure on Jin, who exhales and breathes heavily, held about the shoulders by this mother. In his approach, the cloaked figure actually leaves the ground and lifts into the air in a backwards retreat, moving out of the grapes of the man. At the same time, an odd incantation escapes his lips as his hands lift up, calling forth dark energy to shoot from his hands to the man below. The dark energy strikes the man and explodes on contact forcing him to one knee. As the man attempts to get back up, dark trails of energy whip up from the ground and take hold of his arms, pulling him back down. His legs are bound as well, and though he fights against it, he is held long enough for Baek to rush him from behind. Baek pulls the dagger from the man’s shoulder and holds his head up by his hair before pull it across the man’s throat. A Blood spray sporadically from the laceration and the man’s life is voided before his wife and child. Cries of grief immediately ejects from the woman at the sight of this as the child sat wide eyed in the door way on looking. The cloaked figure lands, and for a moment, an omega symbol is visible on his right hand. The cries of the woman clinging onto the child are ignored as there are words between the cloaked figure and Baek. Baek takes something from his pocket and gives it to the cloaked figure before said figure retreats into the night as if he had never been there; the men in attendance look to the house, now turning their attention onto it.

The child was in shock of what he had witness; the liveliness and strength of his father no longer existed and the threat to their family was still there. His father’s words clicked in his head; the remainder was replayed that in this world you either killed or be killed. The mother falls to her knees, sobbing holding the shaking child. The sound of the katana clicked in its sheath as the child shook, bringing his attention to it. The men started walking towards the open house and there was nowhere to escape to. Baek walked in the front as he reached the door way. His father’s murderer stood before the shaking child and widow. In a spat of desperations, the child awkwardly pulled the casing from the sword, which was almost as tall as he was. Amusement was on the visage of the men as they watched the boy attempt to get the sword free of the case. Eventually it was freed, but the mother pulled at the boy to retreat further into the house. There were no other exits or windows to flee out of. The men kept approaching the door, blocking it, as the mother could only retreat to the furthest corner and hold her ground. She Jin to stay next to her and to not worry, but as Baek came to the door and looked down on them Jin knew that they were going to die. He stumbled as he rushed towards Baek holding the sword as best he could. The child thrusts at the large man who grabs the sword with his bare hand and uses his other hand to punch the child square in the side of his face. Jin was sent into the close wall and slid down onto his side. With that single punch, his vision was blurred and he lost all will and capability to move or fight. Still, his blurred vision handed on his mother who cried out to him in concern. This willed him to keep his eyes open as he attempted to crawl and drag himself to her. A foot rests on his back from one of the other men as Baek approaches his prizes. He looks down at her and begins to undo his clothing. From that point on, Jin cried and watched his mother be repeatedly raped by the men until he passed out. When the morning came, he was all alone in the house with only this father’s corpse lying outside about twenty feet from the house.
