Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast Empty
PostSubject: Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast   Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast EmptyMon Aug 08, 2011 11:44 pm

A hard knocking would come at the door of the Inn room that Hara would be staying at. The smell of a fire would waft into the room from the main living area as well as the smell of bread and bacon. A gruff voice would complain in an annoyed tone, “get up boy, it’s time to earn your stay.” There would be a harsh bang on the door before the foot steps would slowly walk away. In the back story to this situation, the Inn Keeper would have previously allowed the boy to stay there for the night in promise that he would assist him in working the next day. It was a trade without items, rather a trade for labor. The worn wooden Inn room would be simple, nothing fancy, in a small village of Medius that consisted of just enough walls and ceiling to keep the elements on the outside. The sun would have risen just a few moments ago, and the cocks would be crowing with domesticated animals rummaging about. The village would just be stirring as those who woke early to work would be getting up with others who stayed in later enjoying the morning’s moments of rest.

PostSubject: Re: Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast   Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast EmptyMon Aug 08, 2011 11:54 pm

The sounds of movement and the scratching of the wooden door on the floor could were barely audible as the yellow haired boy attempted to sleep, but the rest that he did get was not worth attempting to fight the wake up call from the large inn keeper. Who without a doubt was not offering the early morning wake up out of niceness of his own heart, but to collect on the promise that had been offered only the day before. pushing the blankets that smelled as if they had not been cleaned for quite a time to the ground. Sitting up and rubbing at the eyes trying to wipe away the sleepiness and haze from his vision.

Sitting up the boy would stand up on the wooden floorboards as he stretched his back muscles. The bed was not a very comfortable one to say the least, but the lumpy mattress was by far a better accommodation than sleeping on the earth outside. Throwing a shirt on his lean frame Hara would look to the inn keeper without a word as he waited to be escorted hopefully to the table first because the scent of bacon and freshly cooked bread reached up into the boys nostrils

PostSubject: Re: Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast   Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast EmptyTue Aug 09, 2011 12:12 am

The Inn keeper would have made it about half way down the hall before turning around and noticing that Hara had finally gotten up and come out of the room. “About time,” the gruff older man complains. His hand lifts and brushes through the strands of gray hairs on his head and around his chin. He frowns and shakes his head, “young men these days… have no work ethic at all…” It was mostly ramblings of an older man, but he would not make any notice or give any indication for what Hara was to do. The fire would be going on in the fire place with a plate holding the finished bacon and warmed bread near the fire. There would be a few portions on the plate with the rest still cooking. From the manner it was left, it was obvious that the old man would be coming back into the room shortly. In the main room with the fireplace, there was a table with six wooden chairs around it and beyond that was the door to exit the Inn. There is the sound of rummaging from the rear of the Inn, beyond where the Inn Keeper was, signifying that he was gathering something together. The two would be the only ones in the small four room Inn.

Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast Empty
PostSubject: Re: Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast   Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast EmptyTue Aug 09, 2011 12:35 am

Rotating his arms the air in a circular motion with the opposite had position carefully on the shoulder. In an attempt to loosen up the joints. Hara walked slowly on the wooden floor. He would slip his feet into the dark brown boots. bending down he would adjust the worn out boots so that they were on properly. Standing back up the inn keeper was already on the move. Taking up a rather long stride in an attempt to keep up a broad smile would appear on the young man's face and his eyes would twinkle a bit. " Thanks mister for the nice room that you lent me for the night." Reacihing up and scratching at the back of his head " Sorry about sleeping in, but i havent gotten to sleep in a bed in a while sir."

Entering into what appeared to be the main room he looked around there was no one else around. It was clear that the little hole in the wall of an inn wasn't very poplar with travelers. Looking around Hara noticed the fire place and the plate of food that was not doubt for the large man. Eyeing the plate he knew that the man was kidding himself by putting such a small portion on the plate.

Passing up the food without second thought Hara knew that guys like the inn keeper would not allow him to eat until he had worked a little. Hearing the sounds of someone searching his head would swivel to get a better view before walking to the area " Need any help?"

The inn keeper’s mood would lighten just a bit with the advent that the boy had manners; it could be told that he was soft on such things. If a boy had a good heart and worked hard, then that was all he felt he could ask for. He would assure the young man that it was okay for now. He would inform the boy, “you can eat when you’re ready. Make sure the pork doesn’t burn; when it’s ready there will be enough for us. Tidy up the rooms and sweep the premises when you’re done eating then I’ll have some more work for you so when you finish, come next door to the smithy. I have a few tools to make so I’ll be in there by the hearth.” The Innkeeper walks back down the hall into view with a tool belt and a hammer in his right hand that he used in black smithing as well as an iron rod in his left. Looking to Hara, he would inquire, “got that?”

Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast Empty
PostSubject: Re: Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast   Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast EmptyTue Aug 09, 2011 5:50 pm

Standing up waiting to be instructed on his work for the day the boy was quite taken a back. When the inn keeper's demeanor would change slightly from the little show that Hara had put on. It had worked far better than expected so much so that food was offered before work. Turning to head towards the fire. The boy paused as he the inn keeper who practically owned him for the day would begin to inform him of his duties little by little. A slight frown would begin to form on his face. Catching the break in character quickly HAra would turn his head and give another big smile. Allowing the man to continue he looked him over once more. This older man looked quite imposing with that hammer and his rather brawny physique. "Yes sir I'll be in to meet you in the smithy in no time.

Walking over to where the fire was blazing the young boy would grab a plate that had been made most likely from scraps. Tending to the rest of the meat that was cooking over the fire his hand would wipe the sweat from his brow before serving himself and sitting down to eat. Pausing for a second before eating the boy thought of praying to some form of deity but he knew none. Digging into the plate with a ferocity to his actions he began to devour the delicious food that had been prepared. Compared to what he normally ate this commoners breakfast was comparable to a King's in the young man's own opinion.

Wiping his mouth with the back of his hand and releasing a deep sigh. The boy wuold stand as he grabbed the broom and began to tidy up the room as he had been instructed. His mind wondering to what it was the inn keeper was doing in the workshop. Moving more frequently after finishing up in the main room it was quite easier to clean up the rooms since they went unused for the most part and half of the rooms only need to be swept and dusted. After what seemed like a few hours Hara had finished up in the inn and went to head out to the smithy. As he walked outside he was greated by the bright rays from the sun that welcomed him. Walking around the inn to the workshop he raised a hand "All done on the inside , Sir."

PostSubject: Re: Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast   Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast EmptyTue Aug 09, 2011 8:51 pm

The sound of the black smith’s hammer would ring well before Hara’s arrival to the smithy. Inside the temperature would be several degrees higher than the cool morning air outside, for the hearth had been started since before Hara had awoken. The smith would be a smaller building when compared to the fashioned to sit behind it. A stack of smoke billowed from a chimney leading up and into the area. On the inside, the interior glowed with the orange flame from the hearse. On the wall were two canvas paintings of a woman and a young boy. The black smith would be in the center of the room standing over a pit of water, slamming his hammer down and onto the metal rod that was in his hands. He would look up and notice Hara’s entry and nod, “good.” He would motion for Hara to come closer and then lower his gaze back to what he was doing as he continues to wail on the rod in even two second intervals. Speaking to the boy, the blacksmith questions, “now refresh my memory about you boy; where are you traveling from and heading to?”

PostSubject: Re: Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast   Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast EmptyTue Aug 09, 2011 9:13 pm

Bounding around the corner of the house the small smithy could be seen with the dark gray clouds of smoke billowing out into the clear blue sky. The sound of metal being pounded on metal could be heard loudly throughout the area. Stepping into the work space that belonged to the blacksmith Hara's eyes darted quickly around the small area. As the heat from the flames pushed itself onto him. The heat was several times hotter than standing next to the little fire that was used inside the inn. The walls were bare except for two paintings which were probably members of his family. Listening to the question Hara shrugged and gave a slight smile. " Well I am from the village of the moon, and well as to where I am headed is completely up to the fates." Looking for a place to sit and finding nothing Hara would allow himself to fall onto his backside with a thud " So what about you have you lived here long?"

The smith nods hearing the answer as he continues to create loud pings with each strike of his mallet. He murmurs, “fate…” Looking up to the lad, he would comment, “fate is cruel at times.” With those words, his gaze would shift momentarily to the paintings of the woman and the boy before he looks back down to his work and continues. He comments, “so you’re a wanderer. In this old life of living this new land for about twenty years, I’ve found that everyone has something that they’re looking for… something that they seek and once they find it, they will have found their reason for living. When you find that, do not let it go…” Moving from the sober topic, he would inquire of the boy, “boy… do you have a weapon? Traveling this world of our ancestors is dangerous. You look a bit weak and carefree to have survived this long… perhaps fate has taken a liking to you?”

Sitting down with his legs extended forwards Hara would slowly pull them in towards himself. Until they where folded one over the other in what would be Indian style. Leaning back to meet the smith's eyes his arms would hands would lay flat pressed against the ground. He then began to go on about fate which was clear that paintings were indeed of family members most likely a lost wife and child. It was clear that he thought fate was cruel, but fate just preferred the strong to the weak and clearly his family weren't strong enough to live alongside him. Then he would continue on pointing out my being a wanderer and that everyone was in search of something. Which indeed true but that thing was not always known to the person. Sitting up as the question of the sword was asked Hara frowned and shook his head. " No sir not even a pointy stick." With a smirk i nodded " Well I would have to agree with you on that point my good sir." taking a deep breath in Hara would blow a cluster of hairs that hung over his eyes upwards. " Thought i would have to say to become favorable amongst people is an art form that one must practice at and just like being able to fight proper use of such knowledge can get one far."

The old man listens to the younger man’s words and nods. “Kids these days have opinions…” he murmurs lightly to himself with a chuckle as he continues to tinker. He nods his head, “that’s good…” Looking up with a kind smile he comments, “but when the old speak, the young should oblige them and listen.” The old man would simply be teasing him, a bit glad that Hara had come and stayed at his Inn. He changes the subject and announces while finishing up, “fishing… we are going to go fishing down by the river. If you catch more fish than me, I will give you a sword. You can do what you like with it, be it taking it into your hand and learning how to use it, or bartering it for cheap items or women. What young men do are none of my concern, but I do think I will take a break from the day to day labor that keeps me busy.” He lowers the rod into the water allowing it to settle with a sharp hissing noise before lifting a large leathered glove up and wiping his forehead with it, informing, “I’d rather enjoy company while I can. Go fetch the fishing rods; they are in a closet in the main room of the Inn. There will be a lot of junk in there, but you should be able to find the rods.”

PostSubject: Re: Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast   Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast EmptyTue Aug 09, 2011 10:52 pm

This conversation with this older fellow wasn't that bad at all. It was actually quite an experience that was worth accidentally stumbling across. As he speaks of the younger generation listening to the older a smile forms on Hara's face so the man wasn't just some stick in the mud. He was slightly a bit off of what was anticipated. " Yea they should but then how would you expect us to make the same mistakes that made your generation as great as it was?" Hearing the man talk about giving me a sword for free if Hara could catch more fish than he could sounded like a grand plan. Listening to the instructions to where the rods were located in the inn. Hara stood off and dusted the seat of his pants and stretched a bit as he bonded off " Get ready old man im expecting a quality katana when im done catching all of these fish." Entering back into the house my hand would pull open the door to the closet where the rods had been placed. As soon as the door was opened a bunch of junk fell out into the middle of the room. Sighing it was quite clear that the man had not seen a woman in this home for quite some while. Finally emerging from the closet with the two fishing rods in either hand Hara took a deep breath and forced the junk back into the closet with his feet as he attempted to close the door once more. Finally hara would catch up with the old man and hand him the fishing rod " Here we go get ready for this lesson im bout to teach you."

“Heh,” the old man grins as he watches Hara get up to fetch the fishing tackle. As Hara moves away, the old man stands up and begins to pull his gloves off stating, “I guess that’s enough for this morning. It’s not like I’m on a time schedule…” He sets down the gloves on the bench that he was sitting on and then moves to the hearth to cover it and smoother the flames so that they would eventually die down as he murmurs, “such a waste of a good flame.” The old man would leave the blacksmith’s hut and lock it up. Turning and walking towards the Inn, he would meet with Hara have way and take the rod as it is offered. With a grin, he comments, “is that so,” before he orders, “this way, pup; let me show you to the fishing hole.”

The old man would lead the way to a river that was about a half mile from the village. During the way there, he would talk about the many things he had seen in his lifetime. He would talk about the people who came through looking for weapons and describe sword styles ranging from barbaric to styles that resembled fencing. After a while, they would come upon the long and winding river; there would be a few people scattered about the river in groups fishing together, but the population would be sparse. “Well, pup,” the old man would comment, “find us a good spot.”

Walking with the blacksmith leading the way the young man stayed a good two paces behind the older male. Even though the younger of the two had to walk a little faster since the older was quite taller than himself. Listening to the man describing different styles of swords play that he had come across during his years as a smith. looking up into the clear blue sky as a rapier was mention the boy smiled a bit. " That rapier style that you met would it at all be possible to describe it to me?" As they reached the water Hara smiled as he saw a secluded area down a bit farther from any of the other fisher that had gathered on this day. Since most of the others seemed to be out for fun and where making quite a ruckus which would not be so great plus they where unsavory filth. " We could go a bit farther down here so that we don't have to mingle with the others unless that is what you would personally like."

The old man shakes his head and comes to a pause in his steps as he informs, “I don’t care about the people; we’re here to fish.” At this point, his gaze was across the sparkling river with the rising sun just beyond it to the west. He would continue, turning his gaze back to Hara, “the spot I’m referring to is the one where you’re supposed to each this old man how to fish!” There’s a hearty grin with it before he comments, “but if you don’t know anything about picking out a spot, I’ll be more than happy to.” With that, he would allow Hara to lead to where ever or turn things back to him to find a spot to squat down and fish.

Grabbing a few strands of hair and pushing them from obscuring his vision Hara would look to the older man as he says he didn't mind the people. Shrugging and making a gesture to allow the man to lead the way Hara smirked at the man's comment. " Yeah well it'd be better if you choose the spot since your more familiar with the area and also you wont be able to say i picked a bad spot to fish in when you lose this wager." Following politely after the hefty built man as he would lead the way to our fishing spot. When in mid stride it hit the boy that he had not even seen any sort of bait as to with they could fish with unless the old man was hiding it within his pants or something. Which was quite a queer place to put his fishing bait.

The old man would nod and murmur, “scared?” He chuckles and leads the way from the inland to the river side. Whereas the inland would have a grassy surface, closer to the river, it would be mostly weeds, sand, dirt and mud. The area around the river would be littered with various things ranging from beat up and weather worn cars and here and here to small shacks. Aside from fishing, ladies would be at the water’s edge doing laundry or young men would be gathering water for their families. The old man’s eyes would be scanning the water as they moved along the shoreline. He is able to find a spot with a log extending partially into the flowing waters. From there he would rest his pole on the log and then reach down and roll up his pants. He stands up and motions to the water, “you see those minnow there…” Where he pointed, small schools of fish would be swimming around. He would comment, “you’re a young man, how about catching a few of those for us to use as bait. Tadpoles might work as well.” The task would be trickier than it looked through, as anyone who tried to catch minnows could understand. Sparsely scattered around would be relic pieces from the past including small cups and buckets and the such.

As the two came nearer to the spot where the older of the two would choose as their prime fishing location Hara's eyes would wonder around in their sockets taking in the area. There where quite a few more people here than what he had initially seen. All of the people were at the lake because they needed to be for their personal survival or their survival as a family. Many people doing different things that were necessary. Also Hara noticed that there was quite a bit of artifacts from the previous world that were of no use now either because one didn't know how to use it or because of the rust and other natural decomposition of the artifacts. Though they were quite interesting especially what seemed to be a metallic box that could have served as a temporary shelter of some sort. Hearing the man's words Hara sighed " Seriously, we gotta catch our own bait?" He had never had to do something of this nature. Sitting on a small patch of grass he would kick his brown boots off and place them neatly to the side before rolling up his pants that where actually too long now that his boots had been taken off. Making his way into the water Hara looked to the man pathetically " I have never done this but i wont allow you to out do me old man." Taking a deep breath his hands would flash out and splash at the water in a pathetic attempt to catch the small agile fish.

The old man smiles at the warning that is given to him. "Good , good," the old man coaxed, "this can be a good learning experience for you.". It seemed to be a good thing for the okd man since he no longer had a sin to share these types of experiences with. When he sees the horrible attempt at trying to catch the minnow. The old man lets out a laugh and tears his head back. He lowers his gaze back a Hara and gives him the advice, "instead of trying to catch them by hand, try to scoop up a lot at a time with a bucket or cup. You can find them lying around on the ground."

Listening to the man as he mentioned the whole learning thing as being a good experience. The boy couldn't argue against this point since it was quite true indeed. Especially in this crazy new world where survival skills were the only skills worth having. As the attempt at grabbing the fish went horrible wrong in a blink of an eye. The sound of the old smith's hearty laughter could be heard. Hara's face would turn a bright red from the embarrassment since there was nothing else going on that could possibly make anyone laugh that hard.As the man spoke of catching the fish with a cup or a bucket Hara would smile " Yea umm that was my next plan. Digging into the stream for a few seconds before coming up with a white bucket the yellow haired boy would sit in the river motionless watching the minnows as they swam around him. Then all in a quick motion the boy would lift the bucket over his head and throw it at the pond. Which unfortunately was worse than his first attempt as the bucket would slowly turn over as it hit the surface of the water before submerging itself back under the stream.

The old man watched as Hara seemed to take his word for things and redid his efforts at checking the minnow. With a grin on his face he folded his arms and simply watched the lad, glad to see him trying to his best and working to accomplish a goal. “It looks like you’re getting better,” he would comment while watching on much like a father over a son. Unknown to both parties, however, a group of three men were making their way over to the old man and Hara, but for now, the Old Man’s attention would be on Hara. He would assure, “we only need a couple to get us started. How many fish to you think you’ll be catching today?” After his words another rounds of laugh would come as he moves to the log next to them to make himself comfortable. He would wait for Hara to catch a few of the minnow and would bait his pole there, but for right now, he was working with the pole and making sure that the strings weren’t tangled, or anything to that effect. Not too sophisticated, the poles would be simple wooden rods, like broomstick handles with a length of string attached to them. While working with his pole, the old man thinks about how he may teach Hara his special ‘fly fishing’ caste.

After having failed once more this time with the bucket. The idea crossed the boys mind that he had been doing it pretty wrong. Looking back at the old man again his suspicions were corrected in the smile and then the man would speak in an attempt to make him feel better. With a smile the boy would once again search for the bucket and would this time grab a smaller mug that had a handle that had not been eaten by the river's currents. Standing up in the water once more the boy would place the two objects into the water and stand their ever so still as a school of minnows swam into the bucket and cup. Lifting up the makeshift traps he turned back to the old man " Not quite sure at this point but we will find out soon enough." The boy would put the bucket into the ground. Then he would pour the minnows from the cup into the bucket before going to catch more of the little fish that they would use for bait.

“Ho ho!” the old man remarks as he sees that Hara had been able to trap a few, “good job.” He continues to sit on the log with his arms folded watching as Hara moves back to getting a few more fish. Now down with straightening out his line, the pole he was working with early rested beside him on the log on which he was sitting. Suddenly a shadow approaches from behind and a large booted foot strikes in the center of the merchant’s back. The kick sends him off of the log and onto the ground where he falls on his shoulder and the side of his face in the mud of the creek. Standing over him, four men dressed as adventurers with various weapons on their personage stand over him, one in a captain Morgan’s stance with his right foot resting on the log. Generic enough, in the group the men seemed to be about five or so years older than Hara, but younger than the Innkeeper. “Hey old man,” the seemingly leader of the group of assorted guys call out, “what the fuck do you think you’re doing fishing at a time like this? Didn’t I tell you to have my greaves finished by today? I don’t see them… where are they? You want I should burn down that little Inn of yours?”

Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast Empty
PostSubject: Re: Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast   Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast EmptyWed Aug 17, 2011 9:53 pm

Hearing the old man approve of the work that Hara had finally figured out how to do. The boy would smile a bit in self satisfaction. Now finished with catching the smaller fish that they would be using as bait for their fishing. Turning around to see if the od man was down with his own work the boy would watch as the man came down on the inn keepers back with his foot. It was quite a low move on the man's part not only attacking this clearly older man, but also that he had come with three others. Watching as the man placed his right foot on the same log that the inn keeper had once sat on. The boy would lunge forwards catching the man's fishing rod before it was swept away with the oceans current as it had been knocked over during the attack. Listening as the man who seemed to take the role of leader to this band of second rate thugs began to speak of some greaves that he had ordered. Holding the fishing pole as he stood up the boy's eyes looked at the leader who was clearly older than himself and fave a smile " Sir if at all possible could you possibly shut up because the things you are saying are quite aggravating." Pausing and looking at the others to gauge their response he would continue " It may be your way of whining or more likely it is the horrible job at acting."

PostSubject: Re: Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast   Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast EmptyThu Aug 18, 2011 2:59 pm

The old man would roll onto his stomach and pull himself up onto his forearms before looking up to see what was going on. He warns Hara to stay back, but by then it was already too late. “Eeeeeh?” comes the elongated transfer of attention from the old man to Hara. The lead male, who was spoken to, looks at Hara and then grins, speaking to the younger lad, “you got a loud mouth.” His hand reaches behind his back and come back into view flicking a retractable knife out with its blade extended. Chuckling come from the other three as the people around them, close enough to realize what was going on, move to distance themselves from what was going on. Mother’s shield their children’s eyes and hold them while walking away saying things like ‘don’t look’ or ‘it’s impolite to stare.’

Two of the men in the group would move over towards the older male who was picking himself off of the ground and dusting himself off. “Now leave the boy out of this,” the old man would call out to the leader. Ignoring him, the leader would continue to gaze at Hara much like a snake with its attention on a mouse. “So boyo,” he asks, “you got enough ass to back up that mouth and smirk?”

Watching as the thug took his time to note my words and almost acted as if he hadn't known i was there. It was quite the over dramatic touch. Listening to his words the boys free hand would move to his pocket slowly " Eh i wouldn't say im talking loud but hey it might just be the way I talk." Watching as the man pulls a small knife from his hand and flicks it open. Hearing the pack of hyenas begin to chuckle as they spread out most likely to allow their alpha male room. A laugh would escape the boys lips " Woah man i didn't know you were that hard core." Pausing and looking to the others to make sure none of them were trying anything funny the boy continued speaking in his calm manner. "Maybe you shoulda asked the old man for a real weapon instead of some greaves."

Hearing the old man trying to take him out of it hara head would cock to the side so that the man could catch half of his face. " Hey old man i owe you some work and handling this for such a nice time is fair trade by me." Hearing the alpha male begin to talk some more the boy would scratch at his ear as he looked down. " Im sorry sir but i must inform you that my ass is none of your business because I unlike you apparently chases after the fairer sex."

“What did you say?” the leader seems to mishear as his head tilts up, “it sounds like you want me to kick your ass!” Without warning, he rushes the young male, the right foot on the log it was propped on pushing off, sending him at Hara at a leaping entry with an average amount of speed. In the swift hop over the log he would greet Hara with a diagonal slashing of his blade, indiscriminately trying to cut the boy anywhere between his shoulder and waist.

The other two would keep the old man at bay, one stepping in front of him with the other standing behind. Though he had heard Hara’s words, he was still worried. “He’s not a part of this, he’s just young and rude. Forgive him please…” the man would protest, but of course, this would fall on deaf ears. The old man would be slugged in the stomach and crumple over the fist of the male in front of him who yells, “you’re making too much noise, old man.”

As the man was clearly getting frustrated by the choice of words being used by the boy a smile grew on his face and his eyes would change a bit, but most would never notice. Watching as the thug pushed himself off of the log towards the yellow haired boy with the wooden fishing rod in his right hand. Without hesitation the boys frame would drop down as he placed his left hand on the ground as his body would drop to the ground where his body would spin on the ground quickly causing a gust of wind that would push the thug backwards just as he would begin his slashing attack causing him to be forced backwards. " Now hold your horses there no need to be swinging around your toothpicks around at me." Standing back up to his full height Hara could hear the commotion going on around the old man as he was still trying to keep the man from fighting him, but it was to no use what was happening could no longer be helped.

After the slash, the exert pushes the man back slightly, though he seemed to be partially resistant to it, or at least strong enough to keep it from pushing him back completely. His arms temporarily cross during the exert as he pushes against it, but as the exert dies down, he makes no effort to slow his roll, now knowing that his opponent had a little bit of skill that he originally hadn’t expected. The attack would continue as Hara stood back up in the form of an attempted flying knee to the chest with a simple, “shut up” as the answer.

After hitting that pathetic excuse for a man would fend off the full force of the exert and continue with his onslaught of attacks. Pushing off from the ground with his back foot he would lift his knee upwards in an attack. Taking a step backwards to buy a little time as the attack came at him the yellow haired boy would lift up in a vertical position. Then he would push the wooden rod into the alpha male's leg as he moved around with a bit of foot work to throw the attack of course and positioned himself behind the man. Moving backwards again the boy would begin to talk again " This old man is no doubt finished with your request and you shouldn't have attacked him without reason because the weak have no right trying to bully someone." Pointing the fishing rod at the man's face he would smile " Now why don't you offer this fine black smith double whatever cheap price it was you had arranged to pay so that this little even can easily be forgotten."

In the process of his talking, the male would have recovered from the missed knee to the chest and turns around to reach up and grab the fishing rod that was pointing at him. The portion that would be grabbed would be near the top quarter portion of it. In that fluid motion, the male would continue his attack with a grin seemingly forming on his face as if he had started to notice something. The knife is lunged towards Hara’s chest, but as it is thrust out, his body seems to shift as he has a sudden burst of speed, but then his movements return to normal. It wouldn’t affect the overall thrust, but it would simply look like a small quirk in the male’s movements. On the side, the old man would be on one knee and coughing with one man holding him and another curling his first in a threatening manner to give him another hit. During all of this two of the guys who had been standing around to this point begin to position themselves to Hara’s flank as they inform, “we’re planning on taking everything at the shop anyway, so it’s a matter of principle.”

PostSubject: Re: Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast   Rise and Shine, the Road to the Coast EmptySat Aug 27, 2011 11:41 pm

As the boy talked he would watch as the old man would wrap his slender fingers around the surface of the wooden fishing rod. The man would begin to smile which would make it seem as if he had figured out something that he had not known or noticed perhaps or he was just a dimwit. Well on thought the latter was in fact quite true. Then the man would begin to move forwards. The boys eyes watching for the perfect time to react when his opponent would seemingly shutter in the middle of his movement. Attempting to dodge too late a burning pain would start from the lower left side of the boy's torso. Reactively hands would clasp around the alpha male's wrist that held the handle of the small weapon. Pulling the arm to make sure that the man would not pull the weapon out hoping to buy time. The boy would look at the man who was very much in his personal space at this time. Forcing a smile that looked quite psychotic in its nature. His upper torso would lean forwards as he would give the older man a soft peck on the lips " I like it when things get heated."

“Got you,” the man would begin, but also be caught off guard at the same time. The kiss was something he hadn’t been expected, but the parry was something that he was hoping for. In his thrust, he shows for the first time that he actually knows a small amount of magic in the form of very weak lightning. On touch with the thrusting arm and the lips, Hara should have received a small shock that would cause a weak physical bind over his body. Still, as previously mentioned, the man was not ready to be kissed. On his lips touching another man’s the years he spent in a prison like area all come rushing back into his mind. He caves to his inner cravings as he seeks to increase the kiss from a small peck to a full out tongue gnashing, slobbering, French kissing display of ‘thuggin love,’ even to the point where he would try to wrap his other arm around Hara and take them both to the ground to embrace one another in the gentle caress of the river’s edge.

Now regardless of the outcome, the two moving in to flank Hara would see something not right, and even if it were just a peck, they would immediately call, “pause!” Suddenly, what they were doing wasn’t fun anymore. Even, the guys beating up the old man stopped for a moment and gained an odd feeling in their gut that made them say to one another, “hey… let’s just go… this is getting too annoying to deal with.”
