Court of Yellow Eyes

Tallied in the darkness. Yellow eyes, a sign of madnes. Theres laughter in the dark. But somehow. Its sad. They say that madness demons become mad, much like Gluttons become what abominations they are. Not that they inherintly feed upon the human element of madness. But that they are driven mad by something that occurs in their life. Soemthing that pushes them beyond the edge of understanding. Beyond the edge of sanity. Ceila. The fresh faced leqader of Madness oncde claimed that. Madness was caused by knowing. For them, it was knowing more than others.The original madness demons. Caused by a shadow of the dawn upon their souls. A dusk to its dawn. They remembered enough, to know there was something they were forgetting. Knowing that they remembered there was something before the dawn. Caused them to seek out fragments of what was before. To figure out the mystery of why they couldn't remember. About why their memories were wiped.

But there was more to this mystery than met the eye. Which is why Jack wanted to get to the bottom of this. It wasn't just that he was an ally with Ceila the leader of madness. Although admittedly that was one of his driving reasons for which he sought out this truth. But there was another.

He gathered the reigns of rage and several members of fear and began the march towards the caves leading to the underground. What did he seek? The very thing that he had encountered the last time he was there. The Court of Madness. A place of dark abode that had somehow supressed the hunger of the Glutton. That had somehow supressed the pride of pride and the fear of fear. A darkly sick smile looking over thsoe stone walls. A place where madness ruled supreme over all. Just what was the secret to this place. Just what was its power? Just what was the secret behind madness? Jacks own driving force behind this of course was the threat of the man with yellow eyes. His last encounter with the man had been somewhat. Threatening. He had opened the door when captured by a group of humans with knowledge of demons, pride demons and capturing methods. SOmehow after he had opened the door in the library the man with yellow eyes had taken control of his body and managedto changehim from pride. To madness for a time. This had broken the seal upon his powers. However, this possession by the man with yellow eyes was not a welcome one. And whilst it appeared to be temporary. Jack had been unable to return to his body untilthe man had returned to his place behind the door. And once he had returned behind the door Jack had went to talk. But the man had no words. Just laughter. Jack had made attempts to contact Ceila but considering that the womans entire clan was now destroyued and Madness had no realbase of operation

It was a task most difficult to get a hold of her whenever Jack needed to speak The girl just came and went as she wished usually imparting on him rather odd and enigmatic messages. Usually these messages for that time would have no real significance. Until later. When the words began to make sense. Contact with her had been unsuccessful, but then again the girl had a habbit of just showing up regardless of whether or not she was invited. So he made he move to march, and made it no secret where he was going. SO he took it that would be as much of an invitations to her. as any direct word invite.

The trek there was long and harsh, and with the danger of the newly born hunger thralls. Jack couldn't take any risks on encounters with the Glutton. If he needed to use these troops he needed to make sure that he first had them. it was no use in calling them in later. Plus he wanted to take hold of this place of madness. He would store his troops within as a frontal force for the attack against the Glutton. It would make movng through the tunnels far more easy than it had been before. And with the odd effects of the court protecting them from the radiating evffect of the Gluttons hunger. Then they would be safe.

At least that was the general thought. The only issue in his mind as his group entered the deeper caves was the threat of the tunnel ants who had already been infected by the hunger of the glutton. The writhing black mass of insects that would strip flesh and fat from bone in the blink of an eye still seemed to be prevelent. Luckily however. Jack's men had been trained in the use of the barrier technique that the mages in the research group had been using and had used to get past the tunnel ants in the first place. Unfortunatly the same method was required in this turn as well requiring Jack to use blood magic in order to generate enough energy for the mages to draw upon as they pushed deeper and deepr into the black mass of ants that lay as a carpet to hell before them.However this time it didn't take as long to get through the legions of ants as he remembered from the last trek. Although Jack could only imagine it was down to the effects of the Gluttons hunger. The ants had begun to cannibalise their numbers. Reducing them. And although they still presented a sizable force. They trek through them was cut down. Good and bad. Whislt the lack of tunnel ants cut down the travel time between Jack also had a feeling that these ants were a natural sort of defense for this place. And losing them would make it easier for enemies, or event the glutton or its thralls to get into this place. However. That would of course be down to pure luck. The hunger made it so that they couldn't plan. That they lost most of themselves. It wasn't long before the Court of Madness was in sight. Jack pointed out towards it. Hailing the members of fear and Sloth. " Spread out. Check the area. And secure it".
